Overview
Hanwha Total TB51 is a heat-resistant polypropylene compound reinforced with talc inorganic filler. Compared to standard polypropylene, TB51 delivers significantly improved rigidity and heat resistance through the addition of approximately 20% talc filler by weight. The compound is manufactured using HIPP (High Isotactic Polypropylene) and other base PP grades combined with Hanwha Total’s advanced processing technology, ensuring consistent, high-quality performance across every batch.

Key Advantages

  • Heat Resistance: With a heat deflection temperature of 130°C at 0.45 MPa (ASTM D648), TB51 performs reliably in high-temperature operating environments where standard PP would soften or deform.

  • High Rigidity: The flexural modulus of 1,960 MPa (ASTM D790) provides excellent structural strength, making TB51 suitable for components that must maintain their shape under load.

  • Dimensional Stability: Low shrinkage and excellent long-term dimensional stability ensure consistent part geometry and precise fit with mating components, reducing assembly issues and warranty claims.

  • Excellent Processability: As an anti-static grade, TB51 is specifically designed for injection molding with excellent flow characteristics. The material fills complex molds easily, reduces cycle times, and delivers a high-quality surface finish.

  • Balanced Performance: TB51 offers a good balance between rigidity and impact strength, ensuring parts are both stiff enough to maintain their shape and tough enough to survive assembly and in-service impacts.

Applications
TB51 is widely used in electrical and electronic parts, washing machine interior components including tubs and detergent dispensers, automotive interior parts, and household appliances requiring heat resistance and dimensional stability. The material’s combination of heat resistance, rigidity, and dimensional stability makes it ideal for components that operate in warm, humid environments where consistent performance is critical.

Limitations: TB51 is not suitable for food packaging or medical supply applications. If your application requires food-grade compliance, please inquire about alternative grades.
