Ultem PEI 2200-1000 is a 20% glass fiber reinforced amorphous polyetherimide (PEI) resin. It offers significantly increased stiffness, strength, and heat deflection temperature compared to unfilled grades, while retaining inherent flame retardancy (UL94 V0 at 0.41 mm, 5VA at 1.9 mm) and excellent dimensional stability. Overview
Ultem PEI 2200-1000 (SABIC Ultem 2200) is a 20% glass fiber reinforced polyetherimide resin. The addition of 20% glass fiber dramatically improves tensile strength, flexural modulus, and creep resistance at elevated temperatures. It maintains the inherent flame retardancy (UL94 V0 and 5VA) and outstanding electrical insulation properties of the base polymer. The material is RoHS compliant, FAR 25.853 compliant for aerospace interiors, and available in natural (2200-1000) and black (2200-7301). ISCC+ certified renewable bio-based solutions are also available.
