Ultem PEI 2400-1000 is a 40% glass fiber reinforced amorphous polyetherimide (PEI) resin – the stiffest grade in the Ultem family. It delivers exceptional tensile strength (180 MPa), flexural modulus (>11,700 MPa), and heat deflection temperature (212°C). Inherently flame retardant (UL94 V0 at 0.25 mm, 5VA at 1.5 mm). Overview
Ultem PEI 2400-1000 (SABIC Ultem 2400) is a 40% glass fiber reinforced polyetherimide resin offering the highest stiffness and strength among standard Ultem grades. With a flexural modulus exceeding 11,700 MPa, it approaches the rigidity of many metals while providing significant weight savings. The material retains excellent mechanical properties up to 170°C (RTI) and is inherently flame retardant, achieving UL94 V0 at just 0.25 mm and 5VA at 1.5 mm. It is RoHS compliant and available in natural (2400-1000) and black (2400-7301). ISCC+ certified bio‑based options are also available.
