Ultem PEI 4001-1100 / 4001-7402 | PTFE Filled PEI Resin
Price range: $18.00 through $36.00
Ultem PEI 4001-1100 is a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) filled polyetherimide (PEI) resin designed for improved wear resistance and reduced friction. It retains the high thermal stability (Tg 217°C), inherent flame retardancy (UL94 V0 & 5VA), and excellent mechanical properties of base PEI, while adding low friction and good impact strength. Ideal for non‑lubricated bearings, seals, and sliding components.

Overview
Ultem PEI 4001-1100 (SABIC Ultem 4001) is a PTFE filled polyetherimide resin that combines the inherent high performance of PEI with the lubricity of PTFE. The addition of PTFE significantly improves sliding wear resistance and reduces friction without sacrificing the material’s excellent thermal stability (Tg 217°C, HDT 200°C), flame retardancy (UL94 V0 and 5VA), or mechanical strength. It offers improved impact resistance compared to many other filled PEI grades. This grade is RoHS compliant and available in natural (4001-1100) and black (4001-7402).
Applications
-
Non‑lubricated bearings and bushings
-
Mechanical seals and wear rings
-
Sliding components in automotive and industrial equipment
-
Gears and cams requiring low friction
-
Valve seats and pump components
-
Electrical connectors requiring wear resistance
